I knew having a baby would change things, and one of the most obvious things to change is the amount of time I have to write blog posts. As much as I love producing content for Dividend Brothers, it falls pretty low on my list of weekly priorities. To be fair my trading has slowed down quite a bit as well, so I don’t have as much to write about every week either. All that to say, I’m changing the publishing schedule of my trade updates from weekly to monthly. This is a change that I’m quite sure will largely go unnoticed by most.
So in the future, the good readers of DividendBrothers.com can expect a monthly dividend update, a monthly trading update, and an occasional extra blog post (like my most recent one on Cryptocurrencies.)

My wife gave birth to our son on July 4th! Since then I’ve been overwhelmed by happiness, diapers, and sleep deprivation. My weekly updates will probably be a little more sporadic in the coming months. They will definitely be shorter.
I’ve been doing pretty good at reaching my goal of realizing 1% profit every week. My trading account has been hovering around $700, so I’m shooting to earn $7 by every Friday. I honestly, didn’t do much during Week 27, and what I did do, I have almost no memory of, so this is mostly going to be about Week 28.

As of this writing, the baby my wife and I are expecting to pop its head out any minute now still has not arrived. It’s been a month since my last journal update, and what a month! It feels more like a year in a lot of ways. So many events have been packed into these past weeks and months, and the year is only half over. We still have a presidential election to get through! Also, since my previous update, George Floyd was murdered not too far from my house, and my city, state, country, and the whole world erupted in righteous protests over his and so many other unjust deaths at the hands of our police. This blog isn’t really about politics, but some things cannot be ignored or left unsaid. Our country is need of major systemic restructuring.
Also in this past month, I worked three different jobs in the same week (Week 21), my dog tore her ACL in Week 22, and then I had my most successful weeks of trading to date in Weeks 23 and 24. (Incidentally, the end of Week 23 into Week 24 marked my 3rd Anniversary of trading.) Most pressing on my thoughts though is the fact that my wife is going to give birth literally any day now.
Now, to paraphrase Kai Ryssdal, lets do the numbers.

This week I ran right into my old nemesis. My unwillingness to cut losses when a swing trade goes against me. Hope, fear, and pride all play a part. I am hopeful the share price will recover and move in my direction. I fear losing money or being wrong. I am proud of a win streak and don’t want to break it.
